Happy 2-Year Blog Birthday Giveaway! – Time’s Up!

Time is up for the ice cream maker giveaway. Thanks for all your comments and nice feedback! Check back soon… I’ll contact and post the winner Monday, 2/23 along with a recipe for their favorite ice cream!

Ice Cream Maker Giveaway

I’m so excited to announce that today is my 2-year blog birthday! (Or, “blogiversary” as some call it.) I can’t believe that I’ve kept this thing up and how far it’s gone. I’ve learned so much and gained some new foodie friends over the last two years. Best of all, I’ve enjoyed reading many of your comments and want to give the love back!

So… in honor of my blog birthday, Valentine’s Day, and just the fact that today’s weather in Chicago was 62˚ in FEBRUARY, I want to give one of my lucky readers this Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. I think we’re all excited for spring/summer to finally get here and having warmer weather today just really set my excitement soaring!

What do you have to do? Well… simple enough… please just leave me a comment and tell me your favorite ice cream and what you look forward to seeing on my blog in this next year. Make sure you fill out the email address field, or I will not be able to contact you. The giveaway is only available to those who live in the 48 contingus contigous contiguous states…phew!… (sorry! I hope to spread my wings in the future!)

The red ice cream maker is pictured for the sake of Valentine’s Day…awww… however, if you would like the white, please tell me so in your comment. The deadline for this giveaway is 11:59 PM CST on February 14th…Valentine’s Day!! I will post and contact the winner (chosen by the Random integer generator) on Monday, February 16th.

I LOVE icecream. My all time fave is plain vanilla because I like to load it up with toppings. Especially homemade vanilla with homemade hot fudge sauce.

I would love to see more dessert-type recipes next year, maybe some icecream flavors and bars!

Nata nuez that I had in Spain. It is a creamier butter pecan. I think your blog is great and would love to see more tips on what to do with the leftovers and such..as that is where I struggle!

I would love to see some dairy free ice cream. I know it’s a stretch, but being lactose intolerant is the main reason I can’t justify buying an ice cream maker (or attachment for my KAM). Maybe if I saw some more recipes out there, I’d have to buy one!

My favorite ice cream flavor has to be rocky road – so many different flavors in each bite between the marshmallows, chocolate and nuts.

I really enjoy your blog and look forward to another year…I like the combination of all different foods (dinners, sides etc) and the occasional random items like the dog treats!

I love peppermint ice cream. With the little bits of peppermint stick in it, it is a definite treat. The texture of peppermint ice cream tends to melt in your mouth. It is a seasonal ice cream, so it’s another reason to look forward to the holidays.

As for what I would like to see this year? How about a creme’ brulee. But creme’ brulee with the Nikki twist. Okay, so mostly because I want to see Ben eat like four.

Currently, I love chocolate peanunt butter icecream. (Although, my all-time favorite will always be chocolate ice cream.)

Oh there are so many delicious flavors!! Right now, I LOVE chocolate moose tracks ice cream with lots of thick ribbons of chocolate fudge. I might have to go get a bowl before I finish writing this.

Happy Blogaversary! One of my favorite ice creams is raspberry chocolate chip. I have never been able to find the brand that we loved (it was called Sonny’s out of Minnesota). The grocery store stopped carrying them. So I guess I need an ice cream maker so I can start making it myself!

What an awesome giveaway! One of my favorite ice cream flavors was a Publix brand. It was white chocolate, with a raspberry swirl, & white chocolate pieces. So something along those flavors would be good. Or even white chocolate ice cream, raspberry swirl, and dark chocolate pieces!

Or, something with pistachios!

Or… a chai latte flavored ice cream! I had a chai latte paleta once and it was really divine!

My favorite ice-cream would have to be anything that involves a mixture of chocolate and raspberries. Also anything with coconut.

Happy blogiversary! You can’t possibly ask me to pick *one* flavor can you?? OK, I will tell you a few….cherry garcia, pistachio, and pralines and cream. I’d love to maybe see your take on a typically expensive meal…make it just as fancy/impressive on a budget maybe by changing the protein, etc. Keep up the fab blog.

I am a big fan of chocolate chip cookie dough, and mint chocolate chip icecream. I’ve often dreamed of making my own mint chocolate chip cookie dough icecream and this icecream maker would accomplish those dreams.

Happy Blog Birthday! I love Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. That is the only brand of that flavor I like. No Breyers or Cold Stone mint chip will do – only Baskin Robbins.

Well, I haven’t met an ice cream I didn’t like, maybe coffee might be the exception. Not to fond of that one.

I am in love with a mint chocolate chip ice cream which is made in Michigan (I recently moved to California and crave/miss it constantly!) It is called Creme de Novi and is made by Guernsey’s – pure deliciousness!!

I love all types of ice cream. But if I had to choose, I think I would choose butter pecan from the Creamery on the campus of Penn State University. YUMMO. Chocolate comes in second with pistachio third.

Oh my gosh…I so hope I win this giveaway!! I have wanted this ice cream maker for the past 3 years…ever since we didn’t get it as a wedding present!!! And red…so cute! My favorite ice cream when I was little was pink bubblegum…the kind where you save the pieces of bubblegum to chew after your ice cream is gone. But my favorite homemade ice cream is cookies & cream. There is nothing better than homemade ice cream!!! Thanks so much for your blog!! It inspired me to start my own, but I must say yours is way better! You are so sweet with your giveaway and I agree with this warm weather both my husband and I were also craving ice cream. My favorite flavor is Mississippi Mud(coffee with oreo and fudge ripple…mmmm), although someone posted a recipe for somoas ice cream yesterday that looked delish
While I have many recipes starred frm your blog to make myself, I really like meals that are quick and easy (especially for the weeknights). Sometimes it’s hard to balance putting a great meal on the table with work and I can’t serve pasta every night!

chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirls has got to be my all-time favorite ice cream. i also enjoy combining chocolate, peanut butter, and mint. i know it might sound a little odd, but try it. it’s delicious!
i really enjoy reading your great ideas and reviews. i would love to see some recipes that incorporate spelt and whole cane sugar. i’ve recently switched over all my baking to these ingredients, so i’m always looking for yummy/healthy recipes.

My favorite ice cream is good old fashioned Breyer’s chocolate ice cream. So yummy and chocolatey!
I hope to see more of those delish chocolate desserts like the flourless cupcakes. I loved the powdered sugar decorations!

I like the red, very festive! When I was a kid, I liked bubble gum ice cream from this place in Muskegon called Mills Ice Cream. As an adult, I’m a big fan of strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

I *love* homemade mint-chocolate chip ice cream with extra mint- I used to make it until my ice cream machine broke, so the timing of your anniversary/giveaway is great!

I’m thinking about getting a slow cooker, so I’d love to see some more ideas for using that for next fall/winter.

Hmm my favorite ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough, but the chocolate chips can’t be frozen bits of chocolates that stick in your teeth after eating. That is soooo annoying.

I have a memory of my dad making peach ice cream, in an old hand-cranked ice cream maker in our garage when I was a young girl. I’d love to see a recipe for a delicious peach ice cream that would bring back this memory!

I fell in love with a Amaretto Cherry Cordial flavor we used to purchase when we lived in Texas, but haven’t been able to find it anywhere since.

Also I always order homemade cinnamon ice cream. Sometimes it’s just the simple flavors that knock you out.

My favorite ice cream flavor is coffee, but that is today! There are a lot of flavors I love. I actually would like to see ice cream recipes because I keep looking for wonderful versions. I also am looking for an excellent nondairy ice cream recipe; I had a really good homemade vanilla soy ice cream at a dinner several years ago but was not able to get the recipe and have been looking for one ever since. (Believe me, I tried to get it!)

I love love love ice cream! My favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough when I’m in a mood for not so much chocolate, but then on weekends (usually when this strikes) I LOVE chocolate fudge nut ice cream! Yum Yum!

I love this blog! I would like to see more quick and easy and of course yummy chicken dishes or red meat.
